HOW I CAN HELP YOU
Wellness
Our lives have more meaning when we are able to maintain optimal levels of wellness. Our holistic well-being impacts our actions as well as our emotions. Finding ways to address our wellness helps us reduce stress as well as illness, and puts us in a better position to have positive interactions.

As we work together, we will focus on some or all of the dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and social. I will work on enhancing the behaviors as well as developing the treatment programs you need to help you with your wellness, balance in your life, improve your quality of life and achieve growth through change.
Please give me a call so we can determine how I can help you.
Relationships
Relationships can take on many forms: relationships with your partner, parents, children, friends, and yourself. However, changing the relationship you have with yourself will make an impact on the relationship you have with others.
For the relationship you have with yourself, there are so many ways in which we can work together to help you be the best version you can be. Together we can determine what you would like to work on and create goals and stepping stones to reach them.
Couples therapy begins with an assessment. Subsequent therapy sessions will be used to learn how to deal with, and avoid conflicting communication, thereby leading to increased intimacy, respect, and affection. We will begin to remove barriers in order to create a sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
Family therapy will begin with the most pressing issues and how we can work together to mend them. We will work on communication, respect, upholding family values, and family attachments.
As I work with you and any of your relationships, I will focus on ensuring a safe and comfortable space where you can be heard and express your feelings. We will engage in emotionally honest discussions in order to understand each other and work through the challenges that led you to seek help in the first place.
Sometimes, people in relationships need a safe place to talk to one another, explore goals and desires. Relationships are hard work, sometimes they need a tune up. Maintain them, give them love and attention and feed them with kindness, respect, love, laughter so that they can keep running smoothly. Please give me a call so we can determine how I can help you.
Anxiety & Depression
Symptoms of depression and anxiety often occur together but can occur separately; furthermore, depression affects adults as well as children. In Canada, 5% of children and 25% of adults suffer from depression and one of six types of anxiety.

The objective is to ensure that the therapy is tailored to each individual’s situation, with the aim of reducing the symptoms of both.
There are several forms of psychotherapy that are effective, and treatment will be based on the level of anxiety and or depression. For example, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy, and exposure are highly effective treatment therapies. However, they are not the only forms of treatment.

Collectively, we will work to help you or your loved one develop an awareness of what one feels, why one feels that way, what one’s triggers are, and how one might change one's reactions towards them.

For children, I work closely with the child as well as the family so that children can practice what they learn in therapy. Please give me a call so we can determine how I can help you.
Pediatric Palliative Care
Children living with terminal illnesses are faced with issues that are different from adults. Recognizing the child’s needs, as well as their understanding of the situation, their ability to express themselves, and to receive support to grieve in a healthy way can be challenging.
Families may benefit from therapeutic tools like play, sand and art to help children express their feelings in a non-verbal manner. Therapy that is tailored to a family’s personal choices and cultural influences can assist the child and family in expressing their feelings, beliefs, misconceptions and questions.
Parenting a child with a terminal illness is exhausting emotionally and physically, and brings constant change and struggle in the family’s life. Counselling is beneficial during all stages of your child’s and family’s journey with the illness.
I have more than 22 years of experience working with children with chronic illnesses and their families, many of those years were focused on pediatric palliative care. I am able to provide counselling in my office, in your home or at your treatment facility.

I would be more than honored to be able to walk this journey with you and your family. Please call me so we can see if my services will be able to provide some support to you during this extremely challenging and most difficult time in your life.
Grief & Loss
Grief and Loss can come in many forms. People tend to feel that if a loved one has departed this earth, then there is grief along with a loss, which is true.
However, when one experiences a loss of any kind – a career, a friendship, a partner, health or wealth – these are also considered losses, and grieving these are a normal part of life.

Although I specialize in helping grieving parents and children, I also assist people with issues relating to everyday grief and loss. For me, it is not about getting over the grief and loss that has affected us, but rather how we manage it and carry it with us.
